Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez, who is currently appearing at the Cannes Film Festival, opened up about the emotional impact of losing her mother, Kim Fernandez, and the deep involvement of her family throughout her acting career.
In a heartfelt conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Jacqueline recalled a memorable moment from the set of her upcoming Hollywood film Kill 'Em All 2, where she stars opposite action legend Jean-Claude Van Damme. “I just couldn’t believe it,” she said. “I was doing lines with him… He was my icon. My parents came down and said, ‘We love our daughter. She made us proud.’ Life came full circle.”
The actress reflected on how her parents have cheered her successes and shared the emotional weight of her career. “What we go through as actors, our parents go through with us,” she shared. “It’s all so public. And it takes so much strength for our parents to continue supporting us.”
Speaking about her late mother, Jacqueline expressed gratitude for the time they spent together before her passing in April. “I was lucky to have those final months with her,” she said. “I always feel I could have done more. It takes a lot of time to deal with that loss.”
